AAM6 – Portraiture with oils. Learn to draw and paint portraits.
Mondays at 6:00pm till 9:00pm – 8 weeks x 3 hrs

An introduction to portrait painting in oils and techniques that may be used to represent the human face, and achieve an impression and likeness of your subject.
The sessions will focus on:
Drawing in charcoal
Composition approaches
Anatomical Structure of the human face
Different underpainting techniques
Development of a tonal underpainting
Colour palette selection and use
Direct painting approach
Effective use of brush marks to suggest details and texture
*Aimed at beginners to intermediate artists.
Students are encouraged to use oil paints but are also welcome to use acrylics.
A materials list will be emailed to the student once booking has been made.
