Alison James holds a Diploma in Fine Arts and practices a variety of art disciplines however mainly focuses on ceramics.
After completing her Diploma of Fine Arts in 2012, and Cert IV in Small Business Management in 2013, Alison James joined the Blue Mountains Creative Arts Centre committee in 2014 to get involved in the local art community and started teaching the children’s art classes in pottery and mixed media.
Alison is a practising artist in ceramics and painting, participating in numerous exhibitions and has a number of works including Ceramics, Paintings and Lino prints in private collections. Alison’s ceramics have also been featured in The Journal of Australian Ceramics, July 2012 edition.
Alison’s artwork is often based on wild birds or the sea. There are many reasons Alison is drawn to both subjects from the wild freedom and uncontainable nature to the calming effects and fragile elements that make both subjects fascinating and an endless source of inspiration.
